It’s a unique blend of your PERSONALITY, DESIGN AESTHETICS and the PLACE (location) you live – think beachside versus countryside. It’s like your finger print – no one else has the same HOME-STYLE as you.

Your HOME-STYLE is a holistic big-picture of what you love and should guide every design decision on your renovation, extension or new home. If you’re building new you want your style to flow inside-out, outside-in (so if you’re building a new home and don’t know your HOME-STYLE - call me NOW before you get too far down the design and build path!)

Once you identify your HOME-STYLE you’re going to say “Aaaahhhhh …. That’s why I’m ALWAYS attracted to that fabric… art… furniture!” It’s like finding the missing piece of your puzzle and the key to creating your dream home without any regrets – style wise that is, it can’t deliver you the perfect floorplan (but I can help you with this too!!).

Identifying your HOME-STYLE is the very 1st step in every project I take on and one of my favourite client experiences. I love helping them unravel their design story and I’m always amazed at how unique each of my clients are.

I get calls every week from new clients seeking interior design services and already working with an architect or builder on the design of their new home, sometimes already under construction! They’ve started thinking about the interiors and worried their inside style won’t mesh with their exterior.

I know right away – they were never taken through this highly personalised process of discovering their unique and one-of-a-kind HOME-STYLE before design commenced.

DESIGN TIP:
HOW TO DISCOVER YOUR HOME-STYLE!

The first step in discovering your wonderfully unique HOME-STYLE is to act like a Bower Bird! Start collecting every little object that catches your idea and you feel a LOVE attraction.
Start small and inexpensive - think fabric cuttings, coffee cup graphics, plant pots, post cards. Pay attention to colour, pattern, texture and form. Eventually you’ll see a thread that ties it all together and a big clue to understanding your HOME-STYLE!
